Tony Denholder

Tony's Story

Tony Denholder is a Partner of Blake Dawson Lawyers, based in their Brisbane office. He has a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) from Queensland University of Technology and a Bachelor of Civil Laws from Oxford University.

Tony is the joint Practice Head of Blake Dawson’s Native Title practice. He specialises in advising clients in the mining and energy sector, and has an acknowledged national expertise in native title law.

Tony advises on the development of major resource and infrastructure projects, including new mines, gas pipelines and rail and port infrastructure. He is experienced in negotiating with Government on regulatory approvals and other support for proposed projects.

Tony particularly provides strategic advice to many of Australia’s leading mining and energy companies on native title and cultural heritage matters. He has extensive experience in negotiating agreements with Aboriginal parties (such as right to negotiate agreements and Indigenous land use agreements) to enable mining and infrastructure projects to proceed.

Tony's Achievements

Tony is considered a leading individual in native title law by Chambers Global 2007, 2008 and 2009, and is recognised as a top lawyer in the 2009 edition of The Best Lawyers in Australia.
