The power that comes from individual desire to improve income and family prospects by having choice and access to development opportunities — including employment and private enterprise — will be underpinned by land reform, availability of investment, necessary infrastructure, human capital investments that enables local and regional economic development, as well as supporting mobility and economic participation beyond the community.

Business Precincts

Business precincts will give communities the opportunity to develop businesses by providing spaces for businesses to operate from and facilities for training and business development.

Business precincts will be developed for Aurukun and Hope Vale.

Initiatives

This will be achieved by introducing the following initiatives into communities:

  • Creating premises in which businesses and service delivery agencies can operate in the communities
  • Providing greater land tenure security in order to facilitate long-term business investments
  • Investing in infrastructure such as accommodation in communities

This initiative is designed, developed and delivered by the Queensland Government and the Australian Government.
