Building Strong Communities
We have been concerned with developing enabling policies and practical initiatives aimed at strengthening individuals and families. We believe that strong communities are the product of strong families.
Income management, education, health and housing are universal foundation blocks for functional families. If Cape York families are supported effectively to take responsibility in these four areas, strong families can be rebuilt.
Rather than treating the effects of family malfunction through secondary, reactive interventions, the Family Development strategy aims to support families in a primary way.
